Tour of Utah, Snowbird Hillclimb, Landis doesn't have much of a chance

That was a long break! As of today, I think Floyd is 95% guilty http://www.velonews.com/news/fea/10686.0.html. Did the snowbird hillclimb today for the first time as a race-Time: 53:43. It's ok, 12 out of 21 Cat 3's. I really wanted to do a lot better. Woke up at 1 in the morning the night before and couldn't sleep until 4. Ate a late dinner after watching the Tour of Utah downton circuit race and my guts felt knotted up. Legs felt great the night before but everything else went to hell. As usuall, it was hard right from the start, and I stayed at the front as long as I could. I think I need to warm up harder to be ready for the lactic overload. It usually takes me 20 minutes to get into a rhythm and start passing people. I wish the race was 10 minutes longer, I really think I would have passed more riders. I made a huge sprint effort at the line to pass 2 riders.

The final stage of the tour of utah finished at Snowbird today as well so I hung out in my spandex for several hours to watch. It was awesome, except that Jeff Louder (local pro and hero) lost his leaders jersey and slipped to 3rd overall. Burke Swindelhurst was awesome though and had a great ride to finish 4th GC. Utah has had a good showing. Time to recover the rest of today, first annual Wolfcreek Pass RR is tomorrow. 85 miles and 6000 feet of climbing. What the hell am I getting into.
